A Wild Act of Hope
We are living through a time that asks us to harden — to stay afraid, isolated, overwhelmed, numb, and endlessly producing.
About a year ago, in the middle of all of that, Molly had a dream.
In the dream, women were arriving by sea to a small Greek island. Molly and I were there waiting for them — welcoming them onto the shore. I was standing on the rocks, helping guide them in. The feeling in the dream was unmistakable:
the old ways of fear, burnout, isolation, and power-over were failing us.
And women needed to gather differently.
Not in another fluorescent conference room.
Not through endless scrolling and reacting.
Not by trying to figure everything out alone.
But by returning to the sea.
To beauty.
To creativity.
To each other.
To a place ancient enough to remind us what actually matters.
Paros has held human life, art, ritual, storytelling, and creation for thousands of years. There is something about this island — the sea, the light, the slowness, the land itself — that allows nervous systems to soften and people to come back to themselves again.
So we gather here to rest.
To laugh.
To create.
To tell the truth.
To reconnect to ourselves and each other in a deeply honest way.
And then, from that place, to begin imagining what else might be possible.
Not from panic or fantasy.
But from groundedness, creativity, love, and connection.
That dream felt less like symbolism and more like a direct instruction.
So this retreat is us responding to it.
We are quite literally gathering women by the sea — creating the conditions for nervous systems to settle, creativity to return, honest conversations to emerge, and something more human to become possible again.
Because fear ripples.
But so does love.
And maybe one of the most rebellious things we can do right now
is come alive together
instead of shutting down alone.
I once asked a bird, how do you fly in the gravity of darkness? And she replied Love lifts me.”

What Makes This Different
For years, Molly and Mehera have turned toward each other for creativity, truth-telling, laughter, support, and honest conversation through the real thresholds of life.
Three years ago, in a season of enormous transition for both of us, we came to Paros together. Molly was navigating post-COVID exhaustion, empty nesting, and years of leadership through crisis. Mehera was moving through grief, reinvention, and the quiet rebuilding that follows major loss.
On this island, something softened.
Molly began writing the book she had carried inside her for years — a book about the radical power of love and care in an industry shaped by burnout.
Mehera began painting again and deepening the integration of creativity with her somatic and trauma-informed work.
This retreat grew out of a friendship.
This retreat is our response.
The island held us.
The sea expanded us.
Our friendship witnessed us through it all.
Over time, women began asking us the same questions:
“How do I create a life that feels more alive?”
“How do I reconnect to creativity again?”
“How do I stop carrying everything alone?”
“How do I find spaces like this in my actual life?”
We made a list of women we admire — women of depth, intelligence, humor, tenderness, creativity, honesty, and capacity. Women who do meaningful work in the world. Women who hold a great deal for others. Women who are ready to be nourished, inspired, supported, and restored.
And we invited them into the conditions that changed us.
Return to yourself - together
There comes a moment when we no longer want to live only from force, performance, productivity, or survival.
We want to return to the part of ourselves that feels unmistakably alive.
The part that can still breathe deeply.
This retreat is not about becoming someone new.
It is about creating the conditions that allow you to come back to yourself — gently, honestly, and in the company of other thoughtful women.
We soften.
We listen.
We create.
We let ourselves be supported.
And we return to our lives not escaped from them — but more connected, more creative, more courageous, and more fully alive within them.
This retreat is intentionally small.
Twelve women.
Intimate, spacious, and deeply intentional.
Slow mornings with coffee, tea, fruit, warm bread, quiet reflection, writing, somatic creative practice, and handmade journals that carry the week’s insights.
Circles of depth, laughter, reflection, listening, connection, and meaningful conversation.
Writing, collage, simple visual art, somatic creativity, and practices that reconnect us to intuition, imagination, and aliveness.
No artistic experience is needed.
Optional one-to-one sessions with Mehera, along with gentle group facilitation woven throughout the week.
Afternoons spent swimming in stunning hidden coves, resting, wandering, reading, talking, floating, and being held by the beauty of the island.
One full day on a private boat exploring nearby islands and the Aegean Sea.
Movement, sea play, laughter, spontaneity, sunsets, music, beauty, and moments that remind us how good it feels to be alive.
Fresh, simple, seasonal meals rooted in the rhythms of the island.
There is no right way to move through the week.
Participate fully.
Take space when you need it.
Rest. Wander. Swim. Create. Connect.
What many women tell us:
Quotes. Testimonials.

Awesome women who are ready for more aliveness, creativity, beauty, and joy in their lives.
Women who are deeply engaged with life and want meaningful connection with other thoughtful women.
Leaders, creators, mothers, entrepreneurs, artists, and visionaries who are ready to be nourished too.
Women who want honest conversations, wild swims, deep rest, and big laughter.
Women who are ready to return to themselves — together.
Women who miss having space to dream, imagine, write, paint, play, and breathe.
Together
For many years, we’ve been gathering with women we love — writing together, raising children, grieving losses, celebrating births, sharing meals, telling the truth, laughing until we cry, and helping each other remember who we are through every season of life.
Some of us have known each other since childhood. Some found each other later. But over time, we realized something powerful:
women are not meant to do life alone. None of us are.
Three years ago, during a season of enormous transition in both of our lives, Molly and I came to Paros together. The island held us. The sea softened us. Space, friendship, beauty, creativity, honesty, and rest changed us from the inside out.
This retreat grows from that experience — and from the great gift of knowing you are loved and held by a group of badass, powerful, truth-telling women who truly have your back.
It’s born from years of listening deeply, being heard deeply, and walking each other home through every kind of becoming.
It’s rooted in the belief that we are allowed to be fully alive in our own lives.
We are beginning here because this island became part of our own becoming. For thousands of years, it has been a place of creativity, beauty, craft, ritual, and return.
And now, we get the privilege of sharing this place — and some of what we’ve gathered along the way.
Molly Irani
AKA Rebel Mermaid.
Truth-teller. Deep listener. Warm-hearted force of nature.
Molly has a rare ability to crack people open gently. She speaks honestly about love, burnout, leadership, motherhood, creativity, and what it means to stay human in a world that rewards hardening. We leave feeling renewed, empowered, and hopeful in a time when genuine hope can feel rare.
She is the co-founder of the beloved Chai Pani Restaurant Group, a James Beard Award winner, author of Service Ready, mother, leader, creator, and full-force Rebel Mermaid.
Mostly, she’s the kind of woman who can crack even the toughest shells wide open. She speaks to our humanity so deeply that people who never cry suddenly find tears rolling down their cheeks — and then line up afterward just to hug her and say thank you.
Mehera Kleiner
Artist. Somatic guide. Hawk on the cliffside looking out to sea.
Your Knowing Self founder Mehera Kleiner brings together a lifetime of work in creativity, spirituality, leadership, and trauma-informed coaching.
She has led retreats since her twenties, lived and volunteered around the world, worked as a professional artist and photographer, built women’s empowerment projects, and spent more than fifteen years helping people navigate grief, reinvention, transition, creativity, and the complicated work of becoming more fully alive.
Her work blends nervous-system restoration, deep listening, creativity, beauty, truth-telling, and somatic presence into spaces where people feel safe enough to soften, unravel, reconnect, and remember who they really are underneath all the noise.
Mostly, people end up laughing so hard they cry — realizing they were never broken in the first place. Just buried under fear, exhaustion, old stories, and a whole lot of bullshit that was never true to begin with.
The Aegean Center For the Fine Arts
Our retreat is held at the Aegean Center for the Fine Arts — a beautiful, light-filled space tucked into the heart of Parikia. With its neoclassical architecture, creative studios, and warm gathering spaces, it’s the perfect place to slow down, make art, and reconnect with what matters. The Center, and it's director's and teachers, John and Jane Pack, have welcomed artists and seekers for decades. You’ll feel the soul of that history as soon as you step inside. It’s not just a location — it’s part of the magic.
If you’re craving beauty, connection, and a place to breathe, this retreat is waiting for you.
Opening and closing dinners, plus beautiful daily breakfasts and long shared lunches filled with fresh island food, conversation, and care
Morning creative sessions throughout the week, with all art materials and handmade journal supplies included
A full private boat day exploring the Aegean Sea — swimming, resting, eating, laughing, and being together on the water
Beach outings to stunning hidden coves around the island, with transportation included
Group coaching and nervous-system restoration woven gently throughout the retreat experience
Optional one-to-one coaching sessions with Mehera
Airfare, accommodations, most evening meals, and massage sessions are not included.
Evenings are intentionally left spacious, with beautiful seaside tavernas, long dinners, wandering through the village, and time to follow your own rhythm on the island.
Private massage sessions can also be arranged at the retreat center for an additional cost — we’re happy to coordinate everything for you.
$3,000
We intentionally lowered the cost of this retreat to make it more accessible, despite the rising travel, fuel, and operational costs of creating something like this on a Greek island in September. We are also offering a small number of partial scholarships.
The world gives us endless reasons to contract, isolate, postpone joy, and stay in survival mode. We are choosing something different. We believe investing in rest, creativity, connection, and being fully alive is not frivolous — it’s part of how we remain human.
If this retreat calls to you but timing or finances feel difficult, please reach out anyway. We would genuinely love to hear from you and will do our best to support connection however we can — whether for this retreat, a future gathering, or another way of staying connected.

You are welcome
If your heart is whispering yes — listen. This retreat fills quickly because it’s intimate by design. We keep our group small so each person feels truly seen, supported, and held.
We would be honored to have you with us.

Spring Retreat 2027
You know that quiet voice inside — the one that’s been whispering, "There’s more." Not more to do or prove or build. But more you. More beauty. More truth. More breath, more space, more meaning (especially now).
Our retreat is for that moment when you're no longer willing to wait. It’s for those of us who have taken care of everyone else, done all the right things, and find themselves exhausted, asking, What ^&@#*@ happened to my life and this world? Now, Love, it's time for you. It's time to get some support, beauty, rest, connection, play and fun. You need to be nourished, so that you can come alive again in your own body and life.
